Many transformations define the future state well, yet still struggle to realise the intended benefits. New processes are designed, new tools are implemented, and plans look solid on paper, but the organisation is often not equipped to translate them into new behaviours and sustained performance
Capability building is a core part of Engage to Change. It is about ensuring that both the transformation itself and the receiving organisation are equipped with the capabilities needed to drive change and sustain it over time.Â
In this deep dive, we focus on how to approach capability building in a structured and practical way: from understanding which capabilities are needed, to designing and delivering targeted learning initiatives, and ultimately ensuring that the intended impact is realised.Â
The event invitation text: This OnPoint continues our deep dive into the Engage to Change dimension of our best-practice Transformation Programme Management framework, built on more than 25 years of experience from large-scale transformations. In our previous session, we explored how to engage the organisation through communication, leadership, and involvement. This time, we zoom in on another critical enabler of lasting change: capability building.Â
Capability building is about equipping both the transformation and the wider organisation to make change happen in practice - and to sustain it over time. In this session, we will walk through our structured approach to:Â
- assess and understand which capabilities are neededÂ
- design learning initiatives that address the identified gapsÂ
- deliver training in ways that maximise learning and adoptionÂ
- ensure that new capabilities are embedded in the organisation and sustained over time
You will leave the session with practical perspectives on how to approach capability building as a core part of your transformation programme - strengthening both delivery and long-term benefit realisation.Â
We look forward to continuing our exploration of transformation programme management with you.
