The project: Asia-Pacific distribution footprint for global toy manufacturer

In the rapidly growing market region of Asia, a global toy manufacturer experienced challenging requirements from retailers in relation to service availability and lead times.

To meet future market demand, the client decided to open a regional distribution centre to reshape their current distribution footprint in Asia.

The impact: Enabling improved availability and lead time to market driven by a better planning horizon

Through tendering, the solution was a 3PL warehouse setup with a known partner with the ability to meet the expected growth plan for the coming five years. The growth plan was based on various scenarios (throughput going from 150,000 to 400,000 pallets per year), ensuring calculation of operational benefits, sensitivity and risk assessment, including implementation and ramp-up plan.

The project enabled improved availability and lead time to market driven by a better planning horizon.
