The project

A global leader in the insulation material business was acting on their ambition to build and sustain a world class supply chain. The initial hypothesis was that the order-to-invoice (OTI) process could be further improved and automated, with the aim of significantly improving customer experience and internal process efficiency.

Implement assisted the client in end-to-end mapping of the OTI processes across 3 pilot countries; identifying pain points, analysing root causes and developing an extensive solution catalogue of improvements. In addition, Implement and the client’s board co-created a full OTI strategy, a core story for communication and a future roadmap of improvement initiatives across the client’s global locations.

In collaboration with the client, Implement helped:

  • Design an OTI standard process across all global locations.
  • Build a road map for global OTI implementation.
  • Implement performance management solutions and a governance framework.
  • Design and execute a communication plan and core story.

The impact

As a result of the project, the client has made profound strategic and operational choices, clear choices on the minimum viable process standard to enable fast implementation and clear choices on how to focus on customer experience. Choices which have led to specific improvement initiatives to be rolled out at scale for reaping identified benefits.

The strong core story and communication plan, combined with the project’s bottom-up approach, have created emotional engagement and a pull effect in the organisation, and the communication plan has sustained interest and initiated transformation and continuous improvement.
