The executive team

Management teams have very different work conditions depending on their context. But the mission is essentially the same for all of them – to streamline management of an organisation through teamwork.

The book consists of three parts. The first part deals with fundamental issues related to management: mission and role, composition, work methods, role of the chairman and the whole versus special interests. The second part deals with more specific issues that affect many but not all management teams such as strategic management, tension and conflict, openness and trust.

Each chapter begins with a reality-based case study. In addition, examples from everyday challenges of executive teams are presented. In the book’s last part, the authors present a research-based model for development of management teams.
