Engineering projects – the agile way
How can you get started with making your engineering projects more agile?
Delayed delivery, budget overruns, dissatisfied customers and demotivated engineers are unfortunately common problems in large engineering projects. And although agile project methodologies have been effective in software development, they have proven difficult to apply in large engineering projects that deliver physical products.
Many engineering organisations tend to just continue with their old ways of managing projects because going agile seems too difficult, either because the software version of agile doesn’t fit or because agile is sold as an “all or nothing” transformation methodology. We believe the solution is a hybrid where traditional engineering project management is infused with agile ways of working tailored to the individual purpose, context and engineers.
