Dream of helping clients transform sustainably?

Junior consultants to join our Energy and Climate team

Are you an aspiring management consultant ready to ignite your career in designing solutions sparking companies’ sustainability journey?

Our Energy & Climate team at Implement Consulting Group is growing and we are therefore looking for the very brightest students to join our team in helping companies transform and build a more sustainable future.

The job content

The content of your work depends on your profile and interests as we want you to take ownership of your own career path. However, you can expect to be involved in projects spanning from supporting the execution of sustainable strategies, to developing solutions for the energy sector.

Our work is centred on helping companies tackle some of their most difficult strategic challenges and deliver outstanding insights to support effective decision-making. Some of the challenges we help companies with are:

  • Making bold and informed commitments to drive real positive change impact for the triple bottom line.
  • Building new, or transforming business models based on quantitative and qualitative insights.
  • Supporting energy companies, developers, suppliers and investors to drive the switch from fossil fuel to renewable energy.
  • Measuring, analysing, changing and achieving carbon emission targets
  • Sourcing renewable energy sources.
  • Strategising, organising and developing energy projects.
  • Driving cost reductions, life-cycle management and risk management.
  • Conducting life-cycle assessments and optimising product sustainability.

About the role and areas of responsibility

Your areas of responsibility depend on your profile and the projects you are involved in. Your responsibilities will follow, as you gain experience. Your tasks will mainly focus on external client engagements, which will be carried out in close collaboration with colleagues. In these projects your responsibilities may vary from analytical assignments, to preparing and facilitating workshops and driving independent workstreams. You also have the opportunity to take on internal responsibilities, such as sales, recruitment and culture-building activities.

We expect the workload to be approximately 15–25 hours per week. However, we encourage our students to attend and prioritise their studies, and we are aware that there will be times when you are occupied by exams. You will be working from our office in Hellerup, Copenhagen, from home or from our clients’ site.

Desired qualifications

First and foremost, we are looking for students who identify themselves as strategic thinkers, nerds, and/or activists – and we are truly fascinated by passion. Whether you are a brainstorming champion, can do an economic valuation on the back of a napkin, know your business model canvas in your sleep, can build rock-solid Excel models and killer presentations or just have an innate and deep curiosity that will bring you to a new level, we would love to hear from you.

Secondly, we are looking for a junior consultant who:

  • Is studying business, finance, economics and/or engineering and has an excellent academic record
  • Is in the final year of their bachelor’s degree or has a minimum of 1.5 years of their master’s degree left
  • Is comfortable working independently as well as in teams
  • Has a commercial mindset and strong numerical and qualitative analytical skills combined with an empathetic, entrepreneurial and curious mind
  • Is open-minded, prepared for a steep learning curve and thrives on working with sustainability topics and contributing to the green transition
  • Is fluent in written and spoken English

What do we offer?

We aspire to be the best place for the best people. We attach great importance to personal and professional development. Most of your learning will come from the work you do on projects, and we offer an instructive, relevant and versatile job, where you will become familiar with management consulting through client projects and by working closely with experienced colleagues.

When you have completed your studies, and assuming you are a good fit for the Energy & Climate practice, there is a good chance of permanent employment as a full-time consultant.

You are scheduled to start as soon as possible, preferably before December 2022.
