Five factors to consider before transforming your fleet into fossil free trucks.
Energy transition
The future energy production must be emission neutral. For this to happen, energy production and consumption must be radically transformed and scaled. As we continuously transform the energy production towards electrification, we must at the same time develop a future energy system that can support the use of ever-emerging new technologies like e-fuels, CCS and P2X – and deliver in a geopolitically uncertain world.
Alongside the transformation of the use of technologies and production, it is fundamental that we succeed in connecting and integrating the different energy sectors to create flexibility and efficiency in both energy production and consumption.
The energy transformation must rely on a deep technological knowledge and know-how of various renewable energy sources and be combined with a strategic expertise that bridges across the entire power market value chain – from production to consumption.
At Implement, we help energy companies, developers, suppliers and investors to drive the switch from fossil fuel to renewable energy.
We help you:
Develop and fund your large-scale decarbonisation projects. We support you in identifying relevant routes to bridge your funding gap and understand the business case and expected impact of novel technologies.
Manage and use your assets to get the most out of them. We help you with your investment planning, LCC and risks as well as optimised value streams and ISO055050.
Enable your company to large-scale renewables with the lowest LCOE. We support with CAPEX procurement, contract as well as risk management, among others.
Design, operationalise and implement your offshore wind project. Among others, we work with you on a full value chain approach, your supply chain development and BC modelling.
Enabling the usage of CCS and P2X technologies. Contact us if you need help with setting the right strategy, funding and BC development and CCS and P2X tendering, also if you need some energy market knowledge.
Develop models that support sector connection and enable flexibility. We work with you on collaboration models, your digital infrastructure and data sharing.
Ensure that your energy sourcing is green. We help you with your power consumption analysis, designing the tender process or signing the PPA and source real green energy.
Strategically transition into BEVs and E-mobility. Let us support you with a charging infrastructure strategy and your roadmaps towards zero emission transportation or electrified city transport.
Having acquired a central heat and power plant in Copenhagen, our client needed to develop a new business model and an in-house operational setup for its new electricity business. If it did not succeed, it would not be able to benefit from its new plant.
Specifically, our client needed to establish an in-house financial trading setup for power, coal, CO2 and currency via exchanges and bilateral counterparties as well as arrangements for clearing and collateral.
Together with the client, we delivered on four areas that together formed its new setup. First, we tendered and negotiated terms of an interim solution for handling the commercial balancing responsibility with a third party. Next, we delivered a day 1 plan for taking over the physical operation of the power plant from the previous owner. Third, we established a business model for energy trading activities, including inter-company trading arrangements. And finally, we completed the setup with an organisational and governance structure.
With its new setup, the company could start handling its own energy generation assets with access to the complete value chain.
Our retail client aspired to decarbonise its business. One of our client’s challenges was the embedded CO2 emissions in the Danish energy mix that generated scope 2 emissions.
To offset these embedded CO2 emissions, our client needed to understand the different green power sourcing alternatives it could choose from.
Therefore, we delivered decision-making support on green power sourcing alternatives. This included the development of a “green investment map” giving detailed insights in the cost of decarbonisation of scope 2 emissions. As part of the project, we also developed a valuation model for greenfield development of a large PV park.
As a result, the company gained full insight in the “green PPA price premium” compared to different developers’ PPA pricing models, and it could choose the option that worked best for it.
Our client is a major operator of fossil oil production and chemical plants in Europe. As such, it controls depleted oilfields, pipelines and shipping infrastructure that enables it to go from oil production to active, full-scale CO2 storage sites.
However, going to active, full-scale CO2 storage sites requires proof of oilfield safety, much preparation and funding. We thus set out to help our client do this.
Our joint project aims to prove that the Palaeocene sand in the depleted Danish North Sea oil and gas fields and the associated infrastructure can be used for safe long-term storage of CO2. Also, we have assisted the client with scoping several steppingstone-projects that will prepare the depleted oilfields, pipelines and shipping infrastructure. Finally, we co-created funding applications with the client and optimised the consortium composition to maximise the chances of obtaining funding from EU in several calls.
When in operation, the project will allow for the storage of 0.5 to 1 million tons of CO2 per year.
